Observation

 balance, weight distribution, shuffle

Sparring: Shuffle steps, rules & safety, freestyle no-contact

Defense Training: Lapel grab escape, Tiger #1, Snake #1


1st Degree
Basics: 8-point knifehand blocks with extensions 9-15 (see blocking systems), box step


Sparring: 1-step Set B

Defense Training: Bully defense strategies, Leopard #1, Crane #1, Kempo combination #5 (see combinations section)

Form: Kata Shoshinsha, segment 2 (see forms section)


2nd Degree
Basics: 8-point knifehand blocks with extensions 9-15 (see blocking systems), halfmoon step


Sparring: Basic padwork, basic counterstrikes, maneuvering around opponent

Defense Training: Single wrist grab escape, Dragon #1, Kempo combination #2 (see combinations section)

Form: Kata Shoshinsha, segment 2 (see forms section)


3rd Degree
Basics: Review all; kicking low to mid height


Sparring: Review all

Defense Training: Review all


Form: Kata Shoshinsha, segment 1 & 2 (see forms section)

Minimum time in rank: 3 months
