White Belt: Hachikyu

Observation
Basics: front position, chamber, shifting stances

Sparring: moving forward & backward, basic padwork

Defense Training: Learn the 5 Kempo animals (tiger, snake, leopard, crane, dragon), front choke escape


1st Degree
Basics: 8-point blocks (see blocking systems), pivot, guard, out-on-elbows


Sparring: Basic padwork, moving forward & backward in time with partner

Defense Training: Intro to bully defense strategies, Kempo combination #6 (see combinations section)
Form: Kata Shoshinsha, segment 1 (see forms section)

2nd Degree
Basics: breathing techniques, 8-point blocks with extensions 9-12

Sparring: 1-step Set A

Defense Training: double wrist grab escape, Kempo combination #7

Form: Kata Shoshinsha, segment 1 (see forms section)

3rd Degree
Basics: Review all


Sparring: Review all
