Segment 1
Begin in horse stance, [R] side block, [R] lower side block, [R] pivot (into [R] bow stance), [L] punch, [L] front kick. [L] pivot (into horse stance), [L] side block, [L] lower side block, [L] pivot (into [L] bow stance), [R] punch, [R] front kick.

Segment 2
[R] pivot (into horse stance), [L] lower block, [R] lower block, [R] step back (into [L] bow stance), [R] palm strike, [L] back kick (land in [R] back stance), [L] back elbow strike w/ [R] hand guard. [L] pivot (into [R] bow stance), [R] palm strike, [L] back kick (land in [R] back stance), [L] back elbow strike w/ [R] hand guard.

Segment 3
[L] pivot (into horse stance),[L] upper block, [R] upper block, [L] pivot (into [L] bow stance), [R] inside block, [R] knee strike x2 (land in horse stance), [R] outside block, [L] punch (quick follow).



Kata Roku-kyu (orange belt form):

Segment 1

Segment 2
[L] outside knifehand block, [L] back kick (land in horse stance), [L] side backfist to [L] lower side block.

Segment 3
[L] side kick, [L] pivot (into [L] bow stance), [L] outside block, [R] punch, [L] lower block, [L] lead-leg front kick, [R] pivot (into [R] bow stance), [R] upper block, [R] step back and [R] pivot (into horse stance), [R] lower block, [L] punch, [R] punch (quick follow).


Kata Go-kyu (green belt form):

Segment 1
Begin in horse stance, x-block, [R] step forward (into bow stance) and double tiger claw, [L] cup & saucer (while shifting into [R] back stance), [R] outside block and [L] punch (while shifting into [R] bow stance), [L] pivot into horse stance & execute [R] side backpunch and high chamber [L] knifehand, [R] pivot 180° (into horse stance) & [L] inside knifehand strike to lower side hammerfist.

Segment 2
Look ahead & double lower blocks, [R] drop kick, kneel down & downward punch, look over [R] shoulder, stand & execute [R] back kick (land in back stance), [R] high back elbow strike, [R] pivot 180° into bow stance & execute [R] inside hammerfist to temple, [L] front kicks low to mid height, step down & execute [R] side kick (land in horse stance), [R] side backfist.

Segment 3
Look ahead, [R] step forward & [R] palm block, follow w/ [R] backfist then pull back, [L] pivot into horse stance then execute [R] shuffle side kick, follow w/ [R] axe kick to groin, [L] pivot to horse stance & look [L] (open hands on guard), [L] side to lower side knifehand strike, [L] pivot into bow stance, [L] upper knifehand block & [R] palm strike, grab attacker's head & pull down into [L] knee strike, let go & keep knee up then [R] drop kick (land in [R] cat stance w/ open hands on guard).

Segment 4
[R] foot follows to the [R] (staying in cat stance), step down into [R] bow stance & execute double knifehand to collarbones, [R] side kick (land in horse stance) then look [L] to [R], simultaneous side elbow strikes to backfists to lower hammerfists.




Kata Shi-kyu (blue belt form):

Segment 1
Begin in horse stance, [R] spearhand and chamber [L] knifehand, [L] inside knifehand strike to [L] front knifehand strike (quick follow), wrap w/ [L] hand and [L] outside crescent kick (land in [R] bow stance), [R] punch, [L] turning back kick (return to stance), [R] turning backfist, [L] tiger claw (quick follow).

Segment 2
[R] step to forward stance to right corner, [R] outside knifehand strike, [L] pivot to horse stance (keeping angle), [R] high side elbow strike, [R] crossover side kick, look to [L] and open hands on guard (keeping angle), draw into cat stance and bring both hands to [R] shoulder, step down into [L] bow stance and double brace block, [L] drop kick, [R] pivot to horse stance (keeping angle) and [L] side backfist, x-block to double side lower blocks.

Segment 3
Double spearhands to solar plexus (keeping angle), [R] pivot to horse stance and pull [R] hand back to high chamber, point [L] spearhand to right corner, [L] pivot to horse stance and [R] spearhand (pull [L] hand back to high chamber), shift to inverted stance (facing forward) and double lower knifehand block to double knifehand block to double downward palm blocks (all slow), double inside hammerfists to temple, [L] hand wraps head and [R] inside crescent kick (land in [R] kneeling stance), [R] downward knifehand strike, [L] spearhand, [R] spearhand (quick follow), [L] stomp upon standing, [R] cross cover.

Segment 4

Kata San-kyu (purple belt form):

Segment 1
From ready position, snap feet together while bringing both hands up in front (open hands, palms in) and look over [R] shoulder, [R] step into side stance to back right corner and simultaneous [R] hand sweep & [L] inside knifehand strike to neck (take-down), [L] downward knifehand, shift into [L] forward stance and [L] upper knifehand block & [R] back punch, [L] downward palm block then [R] back punch, [L] front knifehand strike [L] hand wraps head & [R] inside crescent kick to [L] drop kick (land in [L] bow stance), scissor chop to nick, double downward palm blocks, [L] drop kick (land in [R] bow stance), drop down to [R] kneel and [L] downward elbow.

Segment 2
[R] kneeling back kick, pivot [L] 180° (into [L] kneeling stance) and [R] punch, both hands grab head then [R] knee strike (while standing), step down into [R] bow stance & poison thumbs to eyes, [R] hook kick (land in horse stance to back right corner), [R] spearhand to neck & [L] spearhand to solar plexus, [R] lower knifehand strike to [R] crane strike to [R] downward palm block, [L] ridgehand block to [L] spearhand to throat, [L] high front kick to face, [R] low to mid roundhouse kick (land in horse stance to right corner).

Segment 3
Turn to [L] into cat stance to left corner w/ open hands on guard, [L] high instep kick, [R] spinning backfist (into [R] bow stance), [L] bear paw, pop shift into [L] bow stance & [R] longfist to neck, [R] crescent kick, [L] step into twist stance and [L] downward palm block w/ right hand high chamber, [L] high side kick (land in horse stance), [L] outside ridgehand strike, [R] outside ridgehand strike (keeping [L] hand in position), double low knifehand blocks, bring both hands up in front (open hands, palms in), then snap feet together while bringing hands up & over to bow.

Kata Ni-kyu (brown belt form):

From ready position, turn [L] into cat stance w/ open hands on guard ([R] hand high), lunge into [L] bow stance w/ [L] snakehand strike, then quickly turn to horse stance & lean [R] to leaning horse stance (keeping hands in position), pivot [R] into cat stance w/ open hands on guard ([L] hand high), lunge into [R] bow stance w/ [R] snakehand strike, then quickly turn to horse stance & lean [L] to leaning horse stance (keeping hands in position), pivot [L] to bow stance & circle [L] hand over to grab head, push down & [R] downward elbow to neck, grab head w/ both hands & [R] knee strike to [R] back kick (in opposite direction), pivot [R] to bow stance & [R] outside tiger rake, bring feet together then [R] scissor kick.

Segment 2
Look [R], shift into [L] back stance back right corner & [R] ridgehand block to [R] spearhand, [L] lower knifehand block to [L] outside ridgehand strike, [R] middle to high side kick (land in horse stance), [R] side elbow w/ [L] hand guard, [R] side back punch, turn to [L] in cat stance & [R] downward palm block, bring feet together then [L] jump front kick (land in [L] bow stance), [R] axe kick.

Segment 3

From ready position, shift to inverted stance and [R] ridgehand strike w/ [L] hand bridge, circle hands CCW then double palm strike to chest ([R] hand on top), quickly switch hand positions then double palm strike to chest, [L] downward palm block to [L] crane strike to [L] dragon block, [L] ridgehand strike w/ [R] hand bridge, circle hands CW then double palm strike to chest ([L] hand on top), quickly switch hand positions then double palm strike to chest, [R] downward palm block to [R] crane strike to [R] dragon block, shift to [L] crane stance w/ [L] cup&saucer, [R] hook kick to [L] front sweep (land in horse stance w/ [R] knifehand guard and [L] hand across torso).

Segment 2
Turn [L] to cat stance and [R] upward palm block, [L] middle to high front kick (grab & pull arm on second kick), [R] spinning outside crescent kick (land in horse stance), shift to [R] crane stance w/ high & low guard, shift and 180° turn into [L] crane stance then [R] stomp, double hop back to [L] crane stance w/ high & low guard, [R] back to front kick (land in horse stance to back right corner), [R] crane’s beak take-down to [R] side, shift to [R] side stance and [L] side ridgehand scoop block, grab head then [R] turning inside crescent kick to [L] turning outside crescent kick (land in horse stance facing left), turn to [R] bow stance and [R] 4-finger eye poke, shift to [L] dragon stance and [R] side ridgehand strike, [L] rear sweep w/ [L] crane’s beak take-down (land in horse stance).

Segment 4
Pivot to [L] bow stance to right corner and [L] circle block, [R] middle to high round kick, [L] turning back kick, [R] turning inside crescent to [L] outside crescent (land in horse stance facing front), shift to [L] back twist stance and [R] fortress block, [L] step out to horse stance and double dragon block, double dragon’s tail flick, cross arms then double downward palm block (keep arms crossed), bring arms up overhead to bow.

Kata Shodan-Ho (observation black belt form):

Segment 1
Begin feet together, cross arms in front of chest & bend knees slightly, [R] step out to horse stance & double lower blocks, open hands & pull back to chamber, double spearhand (slow w/ dynamic tension), roll hands in then double outside knifehand blocks (slow w/ dynamic tension), [L] step to [R] rear twist stance w/ double downward push block (hands crossed), [L] high side kick (land horse stance), [L] turn to cat stance & [L] outside block; [R] backhand parry while [L] arm circles downward (make contact w/ [R] bicep), simultaneous [R] driving knifehand & [L] low ridgehand strike, [R] step to cat stance & repeat sequence on opposite side x3; [R] turn to [R] cat stance & [R] outside block, repeat previous sequence x2.

Segment 2
