Nunchuku (Chucks)



Single Techniques: Folded grip, 1-hand grip, 2-hand grip, reverse grip, underarm grip, strikes (inside, outside, upward, downward, diagonal), poke/bunt, blocks (inside, upper, lower, driving), parries/traps (inside, outside, front, lower), transitions (forward & backward windmill, helicopter, inverted helicopter, figure-8, reverse figure-8), 3-point strikes, 8-point blocking, 5-point strikes

Nunchuku Form 1 (single- brown or higher)
Segment 1: Begin in [R] folded grip. Step out to horse stance & high x-block ([L] open hand) to double lower side blocks, [R] inside helicopter strike (to [L] hip), [R] outside helicopter strike (into [R] folded grip), [L] pivot to bow stance & [R] poke, bring feet together & [R] upward strike with [L] underarm grab, transfer to [L] hand then [L] outside strike to upward strike, [R] step down to forward stance & [L] downward diagonal strike (to [R] hip), transfer to [R] hand then [R] upward strike to [R] 3-point strikes.

Segment 2: Draw back into [R] cat stance & [R] downward diagonal strike (to [L] hip), [L] hand grab & [R] lead leg front kick then [L] pivot & step down into horse stance, upward block then [L] pivot to bow stance & [L] outside strike (to [L] shoulder), raise [R] knee & [L] downward strike to [L] folded grip, step down into [R] forward stance & [L] poke w/ [R] high open-hand guard.

Segment 3: [L] upward strike w/ underarm grab then 3 [R] forward figure-8 (into [R] folded grip), [R] step back into [L] twist stance @R45 & [R] downward block w/ [L] overhead guard, [L] step back into side stance (keeping angle) & [L] side knifehand strike, [R] crossover side kick & [R] side poke, step down into horse stance (keeping angle) & circle [R] hand down to [L] then clear over to [R] (side block), [L] step to horse stance facing front & [R] 3-point strikes to underarm grab, [L] 180° pivot to horse stance & [L] outside helicopter (to [L] hip), [L] 3-point strikes to underarm grab, [R] 180° pivot to horse stance & [R] outside helicopter strike (to [R] hip), [R] 3-point strikes, [R] downward strike into [R] folded grip, [R] low poke then high x-block ([L] open hand) to double lower side blocks, return to starting position.
