  • Defense- 4 tiger techniques, 4 snake techniques, 4 leopard techniques, 3 crane techniques, 3 dragon techniques; 11 wrist grabs, 5 chokes, 3 lapel grabs, 5 bear hugs, 4 headlocks, 3 nelsons, 9 club techniques, 5 knife techniques, 3 gun techniques; combo's 1-30 (demonstrated on person in non-sequential order) 
  • 8 minutes of moderate contact free sparring (two 4-min. rounds)

Brown Belt Training Guide

Brown Belt: Ni-kyu

Observation
Stances: horse (level 3), crane
Blocks: trapping blocks; 10-point (see blocking systems)

Kicks: spinning back & side kick, front & back sweep
Techniques: minimizing impact

Purple Belt: San-kyu

  • Punch/ step back outside block to punch, shuffle punch 
  • Punch/ step back inside block to back punch, shuffle low back punch 
  • Punch/ step back upper block to downward hammer, shuffle thrust punch 
  • Low punch/ step back lower block to backfist, shuffle backfist
