Kamas (Sickle)
Basic Techniques: Standard grip, reverse grip, front strike, low strike, downward strike, inside & outside strike, inside/ outside/ upward/ downward slice, upward & downward diagonal slice, upper/ lower/ inside/ outside blocks, driving blocks, x-blocks
Advanced Techniques: Double grip, double reverse grip, double yin-yang grip, inside/ outside/ high/ low parry, inside & outside cross trap, front & reverse hook trap, downward & outside hook (standard grip), upward & inside hook (reverse grip), inside & outside wrist roll, figure-8, reverse figure-8
Kama Form 1 (brown or higher)
Segment 1: Begin in [R] double grip. Step out to horse stance & high x-block to double low blocks, circle both to r & [L] pivot to bow stance then double front strike, [L] switch to reverse grip then bring feet together, [L] backward strike & [R] front strike, [R] step to forward stance & [L] inside slice to [L] outside reverse strike, [L] low strike, [R] front strike.
Segment 2: Draw back into [R] cat stance & [R] front hook, [R] lead leg front kick then [R] switch to reverse grip, [L] pivot & step down into horse stance w/ high reverse x-block, bring down to sides then double low strikes to sides, switch both to standard grip then [L] pivot to bow stance & double [L] outside slice, shift to [R] crane stance & [R] low driving block w/ [L] overhead chamber, step down into [R] forward stance & double wrist roll to double forward strike.
Segment 3: 4 downward strikes ([L] to [R] in quick succession), [R] step back into [L] back twist stance & [R] low strike @R45 (chamber [L] hand overhead), step back into [L] side stance (keeping angle) & [L] horizontal side strike, [R] crossover side kick & [R] horizontal side strike, step down into horse stance (keeping angle) & [L] horizontal side strike, [L] step to horse stance facing front & [R] inside to outside slice, [L] pivot 180° to horse stance & [L] outside to inside to outside slice, [R] pivot 180° to horse stance [R] double outside to inside slice, switch to [R] double grip then [R] double downward diagonal slice, return to starting position.
